Installation Guide
Get Punch up and running in a few minutes. Follow the steps below for your operating system.
Download Punch
After beta approval, you will receive a download link by email. The link is unique to your account — do not share it.
Choose the version for your OS:
- macOS (Apple Silicon) —
Punch-x.x.x-arm64.dmg - macOS (Intel) —
Punch-x.x.x-x64.dmg - Windows —
Punch-x.x.x-x64.exe
macOS Installation
2.1 — Open the DMG
Double-click the downloaded .dmg file. Drag the Punch icon into your Applications folder.
2.2 — Gatekeeper Warning
On first launch, macOS may show "Apple cannot verify this app is free from malware". This is expected — Punch is a new app not yet registered with Apple. Click Cancel, then:
- Open System Settings → Privacy & Security
- Scroll down to the Security section
- Click Open Anyway next to "Punch was blocked from opening"
- Click Open in the confirmation dialog
2.3 — Done!
Punch will now launch. If you see a blank lobby, open League of Legends and start a game — Punch will auto-detect it.
Windows Installation
3.1 — Run the Installer
Double-click the downloaded .exe file. If Windows SmartScreen blocks it:
- Click More info (not "Don't run")
- Click Run anyway
- Follow the installer prompts
3.2 — Launch Punch
Punch will launch automatically after installation. You'll find it in the Start Menu for future launches.
Shortcut doesn't work?
The installer sometimes doesn't create a working shortcut. Open C:\Program Files\Punch\ and double-click Punch.exe directly. Right-click it in the taskbar → Pin to taskbar so you don't need to dig for it next time.
First Launch
Once Punch is running, it will auto-detect when League of Legends is open. Start a Summoner's Rift game (draft, ranked, or normal). The overlay will appear automatically with real-time voice coaching.
Note on overlay behavior
The overlay is read-only — you cannot click or interact with it. It auto-dismisses after 15 seconds and reappears when new advice is ready. This is by design: we never interfere with your gameplay.
Troubleshooting
Why do I see a security warning?
Punch is a new app that hasn't gone through the Apple/Windows notarization process yet. Both Apple Gatekeeper (macOS) and Windows SmartScreen flag any unsigned app. This is normal and safe — Punch does not read memory or execute code in-game.
The overlay does not appear in-game
Ensure you are in a Summoner's Rift game mode (ARAM and other modes are not supported yet). If it still doesn't appear, check that Punch is running in the background and that the League Client is open. Restart Punch and try again.
Punch says "Beta access denied"
Your account has not been approved for the beta yet. You will receive an email once approved. Beta access is tied to your Riot summoner name — make sure you entered it correctly during registration.
